Insomnia? Welcome to Team NoSleep.

I have to be careful what I wish for. I was away from home a few days. I Always sleep less when away. Had some situations that caused profound sadness. I was either crying or asleep the first few days back. I am Back to waking up hourly when I finally dose off.. Mornings starts with tears and hopelessness Lately.
ugh.

I had the best sleep this morning 7 to 8 hours. Woke up once because of dreams but easily went back to sleep. The night before I had a decent sleep too.
What I'm starting to do different is two things. Wake up at the same time in the morning. For me that's about 9am. No matter how sleepy I am I get out of bed and go for a 10 minute walk the sun then have breakfast . Before I go to bed I read fiction books and use red light to read my book . I feel red light is more hypnotic and more sleep inducing than normal light. I dont read non fiction anymore such as philosophy books etc because it keeps the mind more awake. No more listening to podcasts whilst in bed. So far this has worked in the last few days. Here's to hoping this trend continues !

I spoke too soon unfortunately. How stupid was i to think that 7 years of insomnia would be cured that easily! Time for hell again and back to anxiety And feeling like shit during the day. Great!

we have to celebrate our victories when possible, regardless of how short lived it may be. I like to think it’s a reminder that hope is still within us.

It's really good to know you're doing better! I like how simple these changes are, but they're like a foundation for your wake/sleep cycle. I hope it gradually shifts so that the anxiety goes away.

5am and not one second of sleep. Been in bed since 11pm. Heart palpitations and hot flushes in cold weather. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep playing this game for. Headaches no energy depressed with joint pain and no sleep. If i lose my job permanently due to this my life is well and truly over
