My sleep is so weird. I think the technical term is bi phasic. That means I sleep in two phases. One early in the evening, then awake for several hours, then again around 4 or 5 am

I've been this way for years, but I didn't know there was a term for it until the last year or so.

Good luck everyone on sleeping!

I just saw this resource from @Lara_C

https://www.suicideforum.com/community/resources/sleepio-uk-free.68/

Free in the UK. Has anyone used it?
Have you ever tried any app to help sleep/rest?
Not really, I'd be willing to give it a go but I have a huge distrust of the usual CBT-I techniques as I'm in my 50s and nothing has ever worked, I've tried the whole increase sleep debt, sleep hygiene etc, when I get up my body just says "OK, we're up now, let's get on with the day." Maybe I'll have a look at it.

Like today that was at 4.30am. Got up for a bit. Went back to bed. Nope, we're awake now after maybe 2 hours' "sleep". Let's make coffee and get up.

What do you guys usually do to help sleep faster?
If my sleeplessness is related to migraine, I will try an antihistamine- called diphenhydramine in the USA.
I try reduce any things the irritates me. depends on the day- things like Noise, light, smells, temperature, etc.
sometimes I have to physically exhaust myself to sleep.
I watch tv too.
