That is similar to me and weighing scales, if I see I have lost weight that I'm happy with, i immediately go off track and think ''well, one Chinese won'rt hurt'' and it keeps spiraling down so now I rarely weigh myself, like once every couple of months but I'm trying to fix that issue. Reverse psychology might help me too lol
Oh yes, I do that too! *facepalmIt takes so much will power to get it down and then within days it's all undone and I never learn! Good luck Petal! *thumbsup

Ha me too, i just do not learn. I am trying to lose it slowly so a 5 or 6lb gain would kill me lol It feels we put it on way too easy and so hard to lower the number on the scales. I hope you manage to re-train your mind and that you get to a weight you are happy with :)

Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.

Its all about discipline and willpower.

So we're 4 days into the new year (day 5 if you're down under), how is everyone doing with their goals and resolutions so far?

@Ash600 @Lux @kat319 @Angel Selene @DrownedFishOnFire @BarryW @pushing1through @Sleeper71
I’m still working out every night but I don’t ever weigh myself unless they make me when I go to the doctor. I go by the mirror gut check method and are my clothes fitting tighter or looser method *dunno. I will have to work out a little longer tonight because I pigged out on pizza this afternoon!

I hope you at least enjoyed the pizza but the question remains, was it worth the calories? *bleh

What kind of exercise do you do?

Definitely NOT worth the calories!!!!!

If it’s too cold/snowy/icy to run I do 30 minutes on the elliptical, then weights (and sometimes my heavy punching bag) and finally another 30 minutes on the stationary bike to cool down. I remember when I started 2 January’s ago working out it was all I could do to ride the bike for 15 minutes and that was my whole workout!

Wow hardcore, I'd be at heart attack level if I did that - that must keep you in great shape.

At the moment the most I can do is 30 mins on the stationary bike, then another 20 but its all very new to me. Exercise that is. I'm on day 15 of working out every day but the first few days 20 mins on the bike was all I could handle. *shh

I’m only in great shape if you consider “round” a great shape :)!! The pounds definitely went on quicker then they come off but where I can definitely tell it’s helped is in my cardio. Before it got all snowy and icy I was hiking miles through the hills and the woods and I felt great doing it.

That is awesome, hopefully you can get back to hiking again when then weather permits. Glad the cardio is helping, that gives me hope :)

I like this months thread @Petal thank you!
My goal for this month (I was going to say this year but that's not possible) is not to enter any eating disordered behaviour and to do a tiny bit of exercise. I'm not setting any real exercise goals, but anything will be good, whether it's something like the plank for a minute, or the hoop for a couple of minutes. Even once would count :). To eat some healthy foods, not to eat too much junk, to enjoy what I eat, and if I do eat too much to accept it.
This kinda has to do with this thread. I was thinking of buying a dress that I would have to lose weight for and I didn't buy it, which was tough as I really wanted to keep it, and I kinda regret it although I know it was the right choice.

Haii.

Kitty just learned, lack of nutrient can effect hair and oral hygiene. 🥺 Eating well has always been a challenge for me though.
My goal is still to aim for 7 meals each day with healthy foods and less stress eating sometimes. So kitty works on eating well next after now done with sleeping better. *hug

I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been and I can feel it - my joints are hurting and I'm out of breath just walking up the stairs.

I know I can do it - I lost over 56lbs 4 years ago. Kept it off for a couple of years but the last year especially it's piled back on. I'd love to blame my meds and my thyroid (I know they don't help) but in reality I just eat too much.

So today is the day it starts to come off again.

Good luck @Sunspots If you could do it before you can most certainly do it again. Checking in here to this thread daily helps with accountability and keeps up positive supports to each other, every day is a new chapter. You've got this. *hi5

IIRC @Sunspots you lost it with lighter life, I think? Would you go back to that? I could be totally wrong but that is what my memory is bringing me *hysterical*hysterical
