My sleep is all over the map.

I went to sleep at 6ish pm yesterday, woke at 12:30 am and its 4:30 am now

Maybe this is the sleep schedule my body and mind needs? The sleep in early evening?

I wish I knew.
Have you tried staying up later even though feeling the need to sleep earlier in the evening? Like maybe starting with an hour and working up to 8 or 9 pm? Just a thought......

Yep, I have tried that Janis, and dang if I'm still not up at midnight lol

My pdoc and therapist both recommended that, and I tried it.

Although today I slept a while in the afternoon and I'll be up later, I am betting a 10 oclock bedtime gets me up at 2 am

Thanks for the thoughts though *hug

Not much at times, I just take meds and do some massage and things like that. It's painful from my neck down to my shoulder and back, then down my arm.
That can be awful. I am lucky not to suffer with chronic pain but I've had severe pain that stopped me sleeping before and I found it extremely difficult
I hope you have good meds and that you can relax

I'm sorry to hear that, yeah i haven't always had this pain but it seems to want to stick around. I probably need stronger meds or something but I'll try to find ways to ease the pain.

I'm supposed to start physical therapy next week but I have to postpone that since I'll be out of town. I just need to find ways to cope in the meantime.
Chronic pain sucks, Whatever the location. Try not to lay on the affected side of the body, you probably don't anyway. Long warm showers might ease for at least awhile. Nice about the massage. I hope the meds are of some kind of help and I'm glad you are going to be starting P.T.

I used to sleep on my stomach all the time, but I know that's going to make it worse. Usually being on my back is ok, but the pain just wouldn't let me do that last night. So I slept a bit in the recliner and then on my side in bed, luckily I was able to sleep a few hours. I just hope to find some lasting relief soon.

Since it sounds possibly cervical spine related side sleeping and flat pillows if you can. Iโ€™m glad you have a recliner to use. I hope they are giving you a muscle relaxer too to take when needed. Iโ€™m rooting for the physical therapy to work.

Super don't worry about me. It was a few days years ago, trip to emergency pharmacy sorted me out.
I just know how horrendous pain can be and can't imagine it continuing for months/years.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice and I'll give that a try. I only use one pillow and it's flat enough. I do have a muscle relaxer that i take, but I still get muscle cramps so hopefully I can find something that will work better.
